Women’s Lung Cancer Forum, Brigham & Women’s Hospital selected Cristina’s “Oh! Butterfly” painting as the logo for a book of memories and inspiration to be shared with women and their families as they deal with lung cancer.

The event will feature local designers in fashion and makeup, and entertainment. $15 donation. Hors d’oeuvres 6:00 p.m.; Auction 7:00 p.m.; Fashion Show 8:30 p.m. Location: Club 58, 58 Ross Way, Quincy, MA.

Cambridge Family and Children’s Service Gala Auction, Charles Hotel. Cristina will donate her framed A Brighter Way print. Proceeds provide support to CFCS programs for children and families in need.


Future Plans

Cristina and her Mom, Leanne, will return to Kalamazoo, Michigan to spend the summer with their Grandmother and Mom.

Neurosurgery Department, Brigham & Women’s – Cristina has been invited to participate with her art tables in a fundraising event during an annual Brain Tumor convention, to be held at the Hines Convention Center.

— April, May, June 2009
Cristina’s artwork will be exhibited at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse., Boston, MA. Cristina will be honored with a reception in April.

— April, May, June 2010
Cristina’s artwork will be exhibited at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse, Boston, MA. Evelyn Berde and Matti Insco-Williams accepted Cristina’s invitation to team up with her and exhibit their artwork as well. There will be a special celebration and reception for the trio.

Children’s Hospital of Boston
Cristina was selected as the first artist to participate in the Children’s Hospital “Art for Kool Kids” program. Private exhibit (November 2006 - May 2007) in the main entrance of the hospital in the au bon pan café. Cristina donated ten large prints with mats for the hospital to use in their frames.

Cristina was honored at a reception on November 26, 2006. Reception included private exhibit and art table. A short speech was given by Cristina for hospital employees and guests. Children’s Hospital surprised Cristina by purchasing the donated prints.

2006
“Young Artist Spreads Cheer,” Cape Cod Times.

Paula Peters, a former Cape Cod Times staff writer, wrote a moving story about Cristina (November 26, 2006). Download.

Honored guests to Angel Flight’s Annual Dinner and Auction, Virginia Beach, VA.
Cristina welcomed the guests as they arrived, and she was asked to speak to the group. Cristina donated her framed “The ‘Sweet’ Hearts” Collection for the auction (October 2006).

Courtyard Marriott Brookline, MA
Private exhibit and reception for Cristina, sponsored by the Marriott (May 2006).

Cristina’s cards and prints were first displayed and sold in Brookline, through a coordinated effort, at Bowl and Board, Party Favors and Wild Goose Chase. (May 2006).

2005
Angel Flight selected Cristina’s “Angel in Flight”

Painting for their holiday card (Christmas 2005).

Volunteer.
Along with her mom Leanne, visit retirement home residents when in Kalamazoo, MI. Plant flowers, take residents to visit their families, arrange medical appointments and therapy, drive to appointments, take them on outings. Brought Cristina’s art and created fun events with music and cake (2003-present).

Art for the Heart –
Silent Auction Fundraiser for Art Therapy for cancer patients and their families. Cristina donated her print “The ‘Sweet’ Hearts” Blue for the auction (May 2005).

Portage Public Library, Portage, MI
Private exhibit (November 2004 to May 2005). This was Cristina’s first exhibit and the beginning of her unexpected career in art.

Hospice of Southwest Michigan and Visiting Nurses, Kalamazoo, MI
Two of Cristina’s prints have been used on the covers and throughout two books by Hospice (“Special Angel: Your Creative Journal, for children who have lost someone they love,” by Gay Walker, M.A.), and on the cover of a CD (2005).

“You Can Make a Difference,”
Kalamazoo Valley Community College Fundraiser for people with disabilities. Arts & Crafts Fair. Cristina was the only vendor with a disability (Fall 2005).
