Artist Statement
I’m Cristina Powell.
I’m Cristina Powell. In 1988, when I was four days old, I was adopted from Lima, Peru. At fifteen months, I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and a movement disorder... not expected to walk or talk... thankfully, I do both!
I first started painting in sixth grade... my art teacher discovered my talent and made it come alive. When I look at each painting, I can’t believe it’s my very own artwork! I’m impressed to see how much I can do, including making others happy, like my friends at the retirement homes. I also like to write verses for my cards and special words to comfort people... download
Cristina's Goal
A Brighter Way is to focus on medical. Currently, her prints are in the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Pain Clinic at 850 Boylston, Chestnut Hill, and in various locations at Mass General Hospital (MGH) and Children’s Hospital of Boston.

A Note from Cristina!
I hope you and your family are doing well! Wish there were more hours/time to share what is happening!
While I was back in Michigan last summer, I was choosing paintings to put on the 7th floor (where the children and young adults are very sick) in the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. After, I picked them out, they were enlarged to approximately 4 feet. Cristina's A Brighter Way is at the Gift Shop in the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center
Cristina's prints, cards, T-Shirts, bookmarks, and much more are available. She will be there to greet you on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.-
Cristina's A Brighter Way is in Brookline in the Party Favors Annex 1354A Beacon St., Coolidge Corner
This is Cristina's home base, where she creates her colorful artwork and you can come by to visit or to purchase original paintings, cards, prints, t-shirts, etc. She will be there most afternoons and evenings.
